Hey there. I’m Nathan, Principal and CFO of Dunn Wysely. If you have a minute, I’d like to share the story of how Dunn Wysely came to be and where we are today.
Back in 2008, I was working at a CPA firm providing tax and audit services to small businesses. Every tax season, clients would show up stressed, disorganized, and usually no better financially than the prior year.
It wasn’t just the clients that were stressed. My peers and I were too. We spent countless hours correcting mistakes made by unqualified bookkeepers, tracking down tax documents, and calming clients after asking them to pay a tax bill large enough to buy a Tesla with only a day’s notice.
All this disorganization led to “tax season” lasting nearly all year. Our only break was after the extension deadline passed in October! A few weeks later, the cycle would start over.
Needless to say, there wasn’t much time to help clients actually grow their business or their wealth.
Frustrated, I started looking for another job and quickly learned that this was all pretty normal for the accounting industry. I knew there had to be a better way. I didn’t want to just mindlessly fill out tax documents. I wanted to actually help people make the most of their business. So, I started Dunn Wysely.
Fast forward 10 years and we’ve helped dozens of small businesses grow in control while increasing the owner’s wealth.
Our approach to accounting and finance is sensible, forward-looking, and most important—it works. It’s about seeing possibility and going after what’s next.
To help you along the way, we get to know you and your business on a personal level to deeply understand your goals, interests, and concerns. That requires us to work with far fewer clients than most but by choosing less, we can give more.
It wouldn’t be unusual for you to consider us one of the team instead of an extension of it. That’s because we plug directly into your business and work side-by-side with you. We take a lot of pride in being proactive, dependable, and reachable.
This approach has served our clients well for more than 10 years and we’re so grateful to continue doing the work we care about with people we believe in.
If there’s ever anything we can do for you, we’d be happy to help.
Talk soon,
Nathan Kloster
